Composite Bonding makes use of a special composite material to smooth over imperfections in your teeth such as; chips, gaps and rough edges, ultimately improving the aesthetic appearance of your teeth. The flexibility of the material means that it can be used to change the shape and contour of your teeth or in some cases your whole smile.
After your initial consultation, your dentist will take moulds in order to create a wax mock-up of your teeth so you can see how your teeth will look after treatment. At this stage, you will have to opportunity to customise and inform your dentist of any changes that you would like to see before your final treatment.
At your next appointment, your dentist will carefully apply the composite to your teeth, then shape and smooth the material to hide any imperfections to create a natural-looking smile.
Once the process is completed, a follow-up appointment is booked to further polish the composites to ensure that both you and the dentist are happy with the final result. As with your natural teeth, composite can pick up stains and will require polishing, however, this is easy to manage along with with your regular hygiene visits.
Although composite bonding treatment does not last as long as veneers, many patients find the treatment is highly cost-effective. Because we have your wax models, it can also be easily repeated with no damage at all to your teeth if they do chip or wear.
