‘Problem solving and management of implant related complications.’

Dental implants have become widely available and patients may present with biological and technical complications. This will be an interactive talk, where Deborah will not only be discussing management strategies for dealing with implant-related complications, but will also be sharing her tips on how to prevent these complications from occurring.

‘Cracked teeth: types, micro diagnosis & treatment’

Cracked tooth syndrome is one of the most difficult diagnoses to confirm and controversial in it’s management. Cesar will discuss the different techniques available in gathering all the information necessary to diagnose the syndrome. The diagnoses will bring about multiple ways to treat the tooth, which Irene will elaborate on. The various conservative and more invasive treatment options will be discussed together with their likely outcomes and future maintenance. As the duo collaborate very closely at K Dental Studios, this will make for a very interesting seminar, bringing both views from these restorative fields together.

‘Peri-implantitis: Can we treat it?’

Dimitra will discuss risk factors and diagnosis of patients affected by peri-implant diseases. Learn how to anticipate and accurately detect problems and review the latest treatment protocols for the management of soft and hard tissue defects around implants. You will discuss your input as the patient’s general dental practitioner and feel more confident in contributing to the management of such cases.

‘Management of the developing dentition (early interceptive treatment, timing of when to refer, functional, dental anomalies)’

GDP’s are at the front line of managing a growing patients developing dentition and the timing of when to refer to an orthodontist is a crucial one. Identifying complex issues often requires some form of interceptive management. This lecture will cover a number of complexities which may arise in growing patients who are in the mixed dentition. Learn which patients require an orthodontic opinion and how and when to refer. Topics include poor prognosis of first permanent molars, early Class III and anterior cross bite correction, management of an increased overjet, what to do when a central incisor fails to erupt and identifying ectopic canines.

‘Resin bonded bridges’

Resin bonded bridges have been used as a temporary or definitive restoration as an alternative to implant treatment. They are often thought of as a secondary treatment option because they can debond.
Irene will be discussing the treatment planning and design process in providing more predictable and long lasting results.
